WHAT IS PROPER FLAG DISPOSAL?
USA Flag Supply is continually being asked what can be done with my old flag that is worn and tattered. The U.S. Flag Code states, “The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning”.
The Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts and veteran’s organizations have some form of flag retirement service that is performed at certain times throughout the year, but now, you can send your worn and tattered flag to USA Flag Supply at any time and we will dispose of your flag for free in the dignified manner it deserves. USA Flag Supply will be involved in the flag retirement ceremony on Flag Day (June 14th) at the grave site of Sarah Hinson, one of the founders of Flag Day, in Woodlawn Cemetery in Buffalo, NY.
